The King extends the contract of ‘Martinez’ after the rising star

Real Madrid youngster Joan Martinez has signed a new contract with the club until 2026.

The 17-year-old has been earning plaudits at the club. And has even been compared to their former player Sergio Ramos at times.

Martinez was part of Los Blancos’ pre-season tour over the summer and impressed. Leading to expectations that he would become an increasingly important regular in the first-team.

in Martinez by opening talks with the player after the injury suffered. Martinez

has now confirmed on Instagram that he has signed a new deal.

Youngster Joan, for his part, is of course sidelined long-term at present.

As much comes after the stopper suffered a torn ACL whilst in training during pre-season.

Prior to as much, though, the Spaniard was making a name for himself as one of the standout breakthrough talents at Valdebebas.

Despite his tender years – he only recently turned 17 – Joan did enough to secure a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team setup in Madrid over the summer.

“I am very happy and excited to renew my contract with this great club, the best club in the world. I am more excited than ever now. “I’m ready for whatever comes my way,” Martinez posted.

Martinez’s new deal is believed to run until 2026 and will come with a pay rise and his release clause has been raised to €50m.
