Wesley Fofana has revealed he almost left Chelsea last summer but was persuaded to stay by Enzo Maresca.

“I got a phone call that really touched my heart and I would be lying. If I said I didn’t consider the move,” Fofana told ยูฟ่าเบท http://ufabet999.app.

“OM Sporting Director Mehdi Benatia has made me very grateful for the offer he has given me. I have thought about it a bit, but the goal now is to succeed with Chelsea.”

“We got the call from Benatia. It’s true that my heart was beating very fast. Because I was recovering from an injury and I didn’t know if I could be part of the Chelsea project.”

“But I spoke to the coach and he told me that he is counting on me this season. So I said I am very happy, I give my all for Chelsea, but it is true that Marseille is in my heart, so we have to see what will happen in the future.”

Fofana has been plagued by injuries since joining from Leicester City in 2022 and has made just 29 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea.

The French defender has revealed he was offered the chance to leave the Blues to join Olympique Marseille in the summer but Maresca blocked the move.
